On a frugal note . . .

One of the attractions of do-it-yourself body care products is the savings in resources!

With that in mind I have found a wonderful book, The Forager's Harvest: A Guide to Identifying, Harvesting, and Preparing Edible Wild Plants . . . which lead me to the web site and to an article on making one's own pectin. Yes!

I have tried to reduce the amount of sugar and know it does not work. I do not like what happens to my preparations when I add the commercial pectin. Now I know what to do with all those less-than-perfect apples which have end up in my compost pile. Will make a note on my gardening calendar to harvest the apple when a bit green and follow the instructions Making Your Own Apple Pectin by Sam Thayer at Forager's Harvest! Thank you Mr. Thayer!

Now back to planning the All Girls Spa Day projects.
