Look closely and you will see the larvae inside the cells of the honey comb.

The first queen 'failed'. Not sure what happened - the bees didn't like her? Or she died? Anyway the bees 'brought out' a virgin queen. She went on her flight to meet the drones and returned to lay eggs.

Amazing!

What do bees see?

The new bees have been busy getting further and further away from their new home here. As a novice beekeeper (or would it be better said the bees are keeping us?), learning about the bees has been high on the to-do list this spring. Here is a fascinating video showing what bees see and do.
